The Types of Tickets Used in Keno
There are different kinds of tickets that can be found in Keno and each possesses its own pros and cons.
The first type of keno ticket is the straight ticket. Usually in Las Vegas, the normal ticket costs around 70 cents and the keno player can check out about fifteen numbers on their ticket.
For a first spot, the maximum winnings can be around 2 dollars, which a payoff ratio of about 3:1 or 2:1. This not a good ticket to play because the casino advantage is totally not in the player's favor. Since the casino edge in keno is large enough, the player should try to edge out the casino with lots of cash and the 2 dollars payout does not seem that much.
What the player should be after is the twelve place tickets because that is the ticket that is played for just 70 cents that will give $25,000 dollars if they hit the twelve spots. So if the player goes at it with good luck, they would mark at least twelve placed tickets and earning them a good payout.
If they get eleven places, they will then receive $5,000 dollars and for ten places, an equivalent of $1,000 dollars. A lot of players do not know anything other than the straight tickets. A lot of players do not even realize that they could get a lot by playing the other type of tickets.
The next type of keno ticket is the "way ticket". This means that the ticket will feature three groups of numbers which are equal in value, which will then be marked by the player. The way ticket will show a three place eight spot for about 70 cents per place. Each of the places, which have 4 spots and combined with the other four spots, will give the keno player three varied combinations composed of eight number or three spots.
Another type of keno ticket is the combination ticket which is the most useful of all of the tickets because it does not require having the numbers equal with one another. The keno player may mix different spots with one another like a 4 spot and a six spot. But in the end, a player must keep their own tickets as simple as possible so that they will not be confused and end up spending a lot of cash in buying different tickets.
